Dominicans observe nation’s anniversary

“WORCESTER”” Red, white and blue flags waved through a crowd at City Hall yesterday to celebrate the Dominican Republic’s 162nd Independence Day.

The event was organized by Casa Cultural Dominicana de Worcester, an organization that is looking forward to opening up membership to the public by March 2007.

“This is an event that brings unity to the community,” said Nestor O. Chevalier, committee member of Casa Cultural Dominicana de Worcester. “It is for one purpose: to be proud of ourselves as Dominicans.” “
