Jorge Gestoso Interviews First Lady of Guatemala on MHz NETWORKS

“First Lady of Guatemala, Wendy Widman de Berger, discusses the role of women in politics and as agents of societal change during an intimate interview with Jorge Gestoso. This original Spanish-language episode of “Jorge Gestoso” will premiere on Saturday, February 25 at 3 PM on MHz NETWORKS. The interview can also be seen on the national program stream, MHz WORLDVIEW.

Representing a country racked by poverty, the First Lady discusses her program to fight hunger and addresses the roots of this important and harrowing issue. The interview examines the effects and impact that four decades of civil war have had on the Guatemalan family and how Widman de Berger attempts to serve as an advocate of the people in her current position. Gestoso converses with the First Lady about President of Chile Michele Bachelet and whether or not she herself has political ambitions. Wendy Widman de Berger is the third “First Lady” to be featured by Gestoso, who has also interviewed the First Lady of Peru, Eliane Karp de Toledo, and Vivian Fernandez de Torrijos, First Lady of Panama.”
