“Angelica Benitez, Director of Student Support Services (SSS-STAR) Program at Bloomfield College and President of the New Jersey Hispanic Association for Higher Education (NJHAHE) recently received an award from the National Latino Scholars Institute for her numerous contributions to the Latino community on October 26. The award was presented at the Newark Club where former Commissioners from the Clinton administration and other politicians were present, and the keynote speaker was Honorable Bill Richardson, Governor of the State of New Mexico.
Benitez was honored by the Latino Institute, Inc. for her contributions to Latino higher education, her leadership and stewardship of the association, and for being a role model for young people today.”
