“AGUAS frescas! We’ve talked about already. We’ll deal with Latino and wine later. Today I want to drive you to drink, nonalcoholically. The Latino world offers everything from sugar-bloated Mexican Coca-Cola and Peruvian Inca Cola to mango and cactus, yes, nopal juice. Hmmm.

Aguas frescas (fresh waters) are fruit, flowers or seeds mixed with some sugar, maybe a few spices and lots of water. They are a misnomer, since they are actually fresh fruit juice that refresh you on hot days, especially when walking around or eating taquitos in a taqueria. “
