“Mexican Criminal Gang that model themselves after similar groups in the United States are becoming a major social problem in this border city, say local law enforcement officials.According to state Public Security Secretary RaÚl Grajeda Domínguez, at least 50 percent of the murders, assaults and violent robberies committed today in Ciudad Juárez are the work of gang members. He said the leaders of the gangs are often local residents who were deported from the United States after engaging in gang-related crime in cities like Los Angeles.

Pablo Cajigal del íngel, coordinator of the state Social Re-adaptation Center in the city, recognized a similar pattern.”
