“Pembroke Pines · To one Dominican native, it must be something about being from a Caribbean island that inspires nationalistic pride.

“Cubans, Jamaicans, Puerto Ricans, they’re the same way,” said John Duran of Miramar, who was among the 200 or so residents attracted to the Dominican Independence Festival of Broward Sunday at C.B. Smith Park.”
