“Central Oregon’s first commercial Hispanic radio station hit the airwaves last week when Redmond-based KRDM-AM converted to a Spanish-language format.

The launch reflects the growth of the Latino community in Central Oregon, which has more than doubled in the last 15 years.

KRDM Program Manager Juan Zendejas, who previously worked at the Hispanic radio station in Woodburn, is in the process of purchasing the station from current owner Bud Hutchinson, who is selling because of health reasons.”
