“But next Saturday, healthy hearts are in the spotlight. This is one of the most ingenious ideas I’ve ever heard of when it comes to community health. The National Latina Health Network, a health advocacy organization, AstraZeneca, a pharmaceutical company, and locally, Family Focus/Nuestro Familia, teamed up to hold the Heart Health Day, just like ones in five other cities across the United States, to raise awareness with Latinas of the importance of taking care of one’s heart.

The Heart Health Day is being held at the same time — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 25 — in each of the other cities. And in each city, the site had to be a real magnet for Latino families. Grocery stores often will be the site in other locations, but here, the World’s Largest Laundromat seemed to be the logical choice.”
