“Pedro Castillo says he isn’t a politician and doesn’t want to be one. He grew up in Venezuela, and moved here almost 30 years ago to study agriculture and animal science at Eastern Kentucky University.
He stayed and became a U.S. citizen. In this small city, he and his wife, Aymara, found friends to fill in for the family they left behind. Their children received a good education, and Pedro Castillo found jobs, working in a factory in Berea and later restoring houses.”
