“As Shreveport and Bossier City grow, more families like hers are making a home here. Hispanics, specifically those who converge on construction and light manufacturing jobs, are moving eastward from Texas and California and have recently made their way to northwest Louisiana.

With them come Hispanic-oriented businesses, churches and professional organizations. Those who move are mostly young, with young children. They may, or may not, want to stay.

And officials here are starting to find out what it all means.”
