“Those who keep a close eye on Chicago theater may have noticed that Latino theaters (with plays and artists devoted specifically to Latin-themed shows) as well as individual Latino actors (who work in theater productions of all sorts) have been on the rise during the past several years.

Teatro Vista and other troupes have paved the way by highlighting the work of Latino playwrights and targeting the Latino audience, while such companies as Victory Gardens, the Goodman Theatre, Collaboraction, Remy Bumppo, the Hypocrites and others all have tapped the talents of Latino actors for both Latin-themed and “mainstream” shows.”
