New agency helps Latinos find homes in Danbury, Connecticut

“DANBURY – As a TV camera taped the excitement, 3-year-old Smarlyn Perez leaped about in a dimly lit kitchen on Tuesday evening. Her 6-year-old cousin, Gabriela Perez, said the big new house would be a good place to play hide and seek. “It’s huge in here,” said Gabriela.

At 5 p.m. Smarlyn’s parents, Juan and Miriam Perez, became the proud owners of a baby blue, two-story house on Mallory Street. They went room to room, turning on lights, opening drawers, looking in closets and inspecting appliances….”
