Funds will help deputies communicate in Spanish in Indiana
“On the road, Johnson County sheriff’s deputies know just enough Spanish. If they pull over someone who speaks only Spanish, basic communication is possible.
The Sheriff’s Department, however, hopes to do better. Sheriff Terry McLaughlin said Friday that a $2,000 grant from the Cinergy Foundation will help deputies and jailers communicate with Spanish-speaking people who cannot read any language….”
