Hispanic-Serving Health Professions Schools (HSHPS) is Now Accepting Applications for the 2006 HSHPS Student Training Programs

“Hispanic-Serving Health Professions Schools (HSHPS) announced that it is now accepting applications for the 2006 HSHPS Student Training Programs. The Training Programs have expanded to include opportunities along the US/Mexico Border and a 6-month fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for recent graduates. Please visit the HSHPS Student Training Programs’ website, www.studentinternshipprogram.com, for more information.

The initial HSHPS Internship Program was started four years ago when HSHPS officials realized the need for Hispanic students to gain real-life experience and hands-on training in medicine and public health. Partnering with the CDC, HSHPS was able to send three students to the Atlanta campus that year. Since its inception, the internship program has grown exponentially every year, with last year’s class of 2005 being almost six times the size of the first. 2006 marks the largest growth yet, as HSHPS has expanded the activity from one program to and entire array of internships, under the HSHPS Student Training Programs. …”
