“We have had somewhat of an explosion in students with limited English proficiency enrolling,” Director of Pupil Services Gwynne Peterson wrote in a letter to the School Board this month. This year the district hired a full-time bilingual instructor and assistant to work with kids at all grade levels with seven different home languages and varying degrees of English proficiency….”
