WHO: After two months of intense vocal and music training, San Antonio resident, Michael Anthony Muenchow, was the sixth contestant to be eliminated from the popular reality music show, La Academia USA. Muenchow’s departure was a surprise to many who along with the show’s instructors chanted "Que Se Quede" when the announcement was made on the January 8th show.
WHAT: Azteca America’s La Academia USA began in November with 18 participants who were recruited during a national talent search. The participants receive intensive daily vocal, choreography and dramatic presentation classes from several of Latin America’s top music producers, artists, and other instructors. Participants put their learning to the test in weekly concerts that showcase their talent.
Contestants are eliminated based on viewer response. La Academia USA fans can support their favorite performer by voting free, once a day at www.terra.com/laacademia. Those who vote online are entered into a sweepstakes to attend the weekly concerts of the hit reality show plus a chance to win the grand prize which will also include dinner with the winner.
