“WHEN FERNANDO QUEZADA talks about how he got the idea to open his own grocery store, you can practically see the proverbial light bulb go off above his head. A decade ago, fresh out of UC Berkeley, he was working as a personal banker at a Wells Fargo office inside the Novato Safeway when it hit him.

“I started loving the grocery business,” says Quezada, who turned 40 last month. “I like to greet and meet people. I like dealing with customers.” The combination of affinity, business knowledge and interpersonal skills inspired him to change careers by opening a market of his own….”
