“Principal Phillip Rountree said Tuesday that Consuelo Allen, formerly a teacher’s assistant at Yancey, has been hired on as an interpreter. A new teacher’s assistant has been hired to take Allen’s place, making it possible for Allen to become an interpreter.

Among her many other duties, Allen will serve as an interpreter for conversations between English-speaking staff and Spanish-speaking parents. She will also translate student forms and other documents into Spanish when needed and will record Spanish messages for the school’s Connect-ED system….”
