“The number of black and Hispanic students enrolled in accelerated classes in Boston public schools has dropped since the city stopped using racial quotas to assign students to those classes.

Newspapers report that black and Hispanic students currently make up 44 percent of students in the advanced classes, which are often seen as a ticket to Boston Latin and other elite exam schools….”
