New epic, Alborada, drama premieres this month on Univisión

“From the team behind international blockbuster Amor real, which generated huge ratings on Univisión earlier this year, comes Alborada, an epic telenovela set in the 19th century. Alborada stars actress-singer Lucero (Lazos de amor, Mi destino eres tÚ) and Mexican heartthrobs Fernando Colunga (Amor real) and Valentino Lanus (Inocente de ti).

The telenovela, which premiered Dec. 12 on Univisión, uses the French occupation of Mexico as a backdrop. It is a time of injustice and social inequity, where peasants live under the iron fist of the aristocratic class, and everyone, rich and poor alike, lives under the dark cloud of the Spanish Inquisition….”
