Univision World Cup Theme Song Hits Times Square for New Year’s

“Univision Television Network, the broadcast arm of Univision Communications Inc., will premiere its FIFA World Cup 2006 theme song, Arriba, Arriba!, from 11:49 p.m. to 11:54 p.m. on Dec. 31 with a live performance in Times Square. The broadcast, which will air live on Univision, MTV, ABC and CNN minutes before the city’s famous ball drop, “is expected to reach over 222 million viewers in the U.S. alone,” Univision said in a statement.

The FIFA theme song was produced by Puerto Rican salsa singer Sergio George and written by composer Jorge Luis Piloto, who has composed songs for Chayanne and Celia Cruz. …”
