Georgia adds 248,000 immigrants 2000-2005

“Immigration both legal and illegal has accelerated, pushing the percentage of the U.S. population born in other countries to the highest point in nearly a century.

There are 35.2 million foreign-born people living in the United States – about 12.1 percent of the population, according to a report Monday by the Center for Immigration Studies, a group that supports lower levels of immigration….”
