“Lake County is increasingly becoming the first stop for many Latino families, who are bypassing the city to settle in the suburbs, a new report released by the University of Notre Dame has found.

The report found Latinos now make up nearly one-fifth of the county’s total population, with the growth highly concentrated in Latino enclaves in the county. These trends could have profound implications for the county, its school system, social services, housing market and businesses, the report and local experts say….”
