“Throughout the Eastern Panhandle, new businesses are popping up to cater to the growing Hispanic population. And in most cases, it is fellow Hispanics who are opening those businesses.

Christine Lunsford, director of programming at the Small Business Development Center of the Community and Technical College of Shepherd, estimates that the three Eastern Panhandle counties are home to between 30 and 40 Hispanic-owned businesses. That’s up dramatically from 2002, when Lunsford estimated there were just about 13 Hispanic-owned businesses….”
