Latina Lista: National Conference Focuses on Assumption that Private Schools are For White Students Only

“That’s why the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) recently held during their 3-day national conference two other conferences - People of Color Conference and the Student Diversity Leadership Conference to address diversity - an area that private schools still need a lot of education about.

Both of these other conferences were for those teachers and students who find themselves in the minority at their private schools and need a place just to go to gain support, learn they’re not alone, and understand that they have every right to be where they are….”
