“With a meager number of possessions and an uncertain future, Gaspar and Rosa Galindo came to the United States from Mexico in the early 1960s, seven kids in tow. Marie Galindo would come in 1968, and her birth and the birth of the final Galindo child would help bring to nine the total number of kids the migrant couple introduced to the world.

Like many Mexicans who move to the United States for a better chance and more opportunity, the Galindo family was humble. But Galindo was an accomplished horseman and he would find himself a position as groom at the Midland Polo Club, where he would spend many years building respect not only professionally but as a friend to others. Neither he nor his wife ever learned to speak English. But their children did….”
