Young Voices: The South Side makes me strong. A young Latinas article about the south side of Tucson, Arizona.
“In Tucson, the South Side is often portrayed in a negative way. Is it because of the beaten-up neighborhoods or the constant sirens screaming through the streets, or is it because of the young teenagers who day after day become victims of drug abuse?
Most people would say living on the South Side is dangerous but I can contradict that opinion. I’ve lived in these “dangerous” neighborhoods all my life and not once have I ever felt threatened or uncomfortable…”
