“It’s 15 minutes shy of 8 on a muggy August morning as Jesus Hernandez readies for his Sunday morning ritual outside Capilla de Nuestra Senora church.

A few miles down winding county roads off state Route 26 in Unicoi County, the one-room church sits in the middle of a village that serves as home to more than 300 Mexican migrant workers who keep Scott Farms humming from April to October.”
