“Last year when David Mejias left his job as CEO of Sonora Entertainment Group to become a photographer he expected that his corporate background would raise some eyebrows among other artists. But street cred came easily – he just received a nod from a prestigious journal for commercial artists. Meanwhile, Mejias is leveraging his corporate background to bring Latino-relevant photography to businesses trying to connect with the Latino market.

Mejias, who at 27 helped to form the largest circuit of Spanish-language movie theaters in the U.S. at Sonora, expected to find marketers hungry for creative Latino-relevant images. Advertising targeting Latinos soared to a $3 billion industry last year and Mejias knew that quality photography featuring Latinos was hard to come by.”
