“Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico, the nation’s only sitting Hispanic governor, credits the Hispanic vote for helping to elect Tim Kaine and John Corzine as the governors of Virginia and New Jersey, respectively, on Nov. 8.

Nearly 70 percent of that vote in both New Jersey and Virginia went to the Democratic candidates, Richardson told reporters who gathered the next day at the Democratic headquarters in Washington.”
