“Time to spice things up. Little do many Americans know that for years Hispanics all over the world celebrate giving thanks their own way, with diverse dishes served next to the traditional turkey, offering an exotic spin on “El Dia de Accion de Gracias” (Thanksgiving). This year, we’re spilling some of their secrets.

A native of Carolina, Puerto Rico, and co-owner of the Lakeland restaurant El Coqui, Maria Vazquez, 28, remembers the holiday as one filled with the same traditions of love and thanks as in the United States, but with more flavor. She still follows such traditions here in Florida.”
