“Moises “Moe” Vela Jr., one of the highest ranking Hispanic executives in the REIT industry and one-time head of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), has launched Comunidades LLC, a Denver-based consulting group that will offer specialty services to multifamily-apartment owners, operators and vendors seeking to tailor their operations to meet the needs of the rapidly growing pool of Hispanic renters. An established expert on diversity practices and Hispanic marketing, Vela served as a senior White House advisor on Hispanic affairs to former Vice President Al Gore.
Comunidades LLC will offer its clients culturally focused training, marketing services, customer service strategies, workforce diversity initiatives, strategic acquisition plans and a unique cultural customization operations model that helps multifamily-property owners and operators customize apartment communities in ways that attract and retain Hispanic renters. The group’s services will help multifamily owners and operators to improve profit margins, increase occupancy rates, achieve higher rental income, lower bad debt, and reduce both resident and employee turnover.”
