Torch lights the plight of immigrants

“Representing St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lucio and 61 other residents from five churches in Cameron County were participating in the Antorcha Guadalupana Run, which began in Mexico City on Oct. 9 and is expected to end in New York City on Dec. 12.

“This is to raise awareness for the rights of immigrants in the United States,” said Lucio, stopping mid-sentence as the torch reached him. “Gotta go!””
