“New York’s John Jay College School of Criminal Justice, where the 40% of the students are Hispanic, and almost 2,000 of them Dominican and children born here of Dominican parents, signed an agreement with the Dominican Republic’s ministries of Interior and Police, and of Justice, aimed at offer technical qualification to 30,000 Dominican police officers.

Jeremy Travis, president of that university, acknowledged president Leonel Fernandez’s effort to obtain a greater preparation of the police and to offer greater security to his country’s citizens.”
