Spanish newscasts vie for big ratings in New Jersey

“As the Hispanic population grows, the region’s two Spanish-language television stations are nudging their English-language counterparts for first place in the ratings.

In July, the 6 p.m. newscast of Teaneck-based Univision 41 (WXTV) became the first Spanish-language news program to get more viewers in a single New York area newscast than any of the English channels in the same time slot.”
