Knowledge is Power!
“When we think of art, we likely take for granted that in some neighborhoods there is great art out for everyone to see. West Town in Chicago is one of those neighborhoods. On the corner of Division Street and Hoyne Avenue on the side of an apartment building stands a colorful mural-one of the oldest surviving in Chicago-entitled, Unidos Para Triunfar, or “Together We Overcome.”
Approximately 16 feet by 45 feet, the mural shows two hands clasped together. On and on the left and right there are people marching holding up signs, and on the right there also is a fight scene.”
