“A private party sponsored by Johnnie Walker(R), People En Español and Jaguar to raise money for the National Council of La Raza’s (NCLR) Hurricane Relief Fund took place last night after the Latin Grammy Award Show. Hosted by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s Eduardo Xol and People En Español editor Richard Pérez-Feria, the event raised awareness for the plight of Latinos in the gulf states and raised more than $15,000 the specially created fund.

Ricardo Valdes, Multicultural Marketing Manager for California of Diageo North America and People En Español’s Pérez-Feria each presented $5,000 checks to NCLR. Board of Director and Executive Committee member, Antonia Jimenez, accepted on behalf of NCLR, the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States working to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans.”
