“The Foundation for a New Iberian-American Journalism named Monica Godoy and Terra.com contributors among four finalists in the Internet category of its annual journalism awards. Godoy was the only representative in the U.S. to be honored, with her work serving as an example of the best of Latin American journalism online.

Her work, Juventud al Desnudo, (www.terra.com/especiales/juventud), distinguished itself among the 347 entries in the fourth annual Premio Nuevo Periodismo CEMEX FNPI. Juventud al Desnudo reports on the opinions of more than 3,300 Terra.com users age 18 to 34. In Juventud al Desnudo, Godoy discusses young adults’ opinions about who they are, what they represent and their positions on the following issues: religion, beauty, sex and politics, among others. In the second round, her work was judged by a selective panel of international judges including distinguished Latin American journalists and led by the Nobel Literature Prize laureate, Gabriel Garcia Marquez. “
