Valley to host Olympic-style Hispanic games. Arizona

“More than 2,000 Latino athletes are expected to converge on the Valley next March when organizers of the Grand Canyon State Games hold a major new Olympic-style amateur sporting tournament for Hispanics.

The National Hispanic Games will feature recreational basketball, soccer, baseball and boxing competitions over Memorial Day weekend, drawing participants nationwide, said Erik Widmark, Grand Canyon State Games executive director. “
