“Tomorrow, the marketers will give us a new version of a same-old sell. A study released by the Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth at Georgetown University contained startling yet not totally unexpected news. In the 12-month period between 2003 and 2004, Latino youth were exposed to 20 percent more alcohol advertising than non-Latino youth.

San Antonio was named in the study as a place, along with New York, San Francisco and San Jose, where Latino youth were more likely to hear advertisements for alcohol on the radio. We can thank Coors, Budweiser and Beck’s for that; those three lead the field in “outreach” to Latino youth.”
