“A recent emphasis on Hispanic and Latino student recruitment over the past several years is clearly paying off. In the last four years, the number of Hispanic freshmen who have enrolled at UNC each year has more than doubled, from 77 in 2002 to 164 this fall.

While Hispanic students still represent just a small fraction of this year’s 3,751-member freshman class, theirs is by far the most rapidly growing minority group on campus.”
