Early this month, I received an e-confirmation that my piece had been accepted for publication (the academic publishing process, as many of us know, is oh so slow). While I’ve been published before–both in academic and literary journals–I was happy that this piece was going to have a “home” within a discursive outlet that shapes and institutionally archives the field of “Latino Studies.”"
