Latinos sought for political life
“Latinos represent a potentially significant voting bloc and contribute greatly to the American way of life, but have largely abdicated their representation in government, said three Latino political figures Saturday.
“Our destiny is within our grasp,” said U.S. Rep. Robert Menendez, D-Union City, speaking in Spanish to the audience at a program on Latinos in politics and government at Drew University. “The question is whether we will rein that destiny in with our hands or allow others to do it.”"
