Tagged: Beaufort County“The trial last week of people charged in the murder of a Hispanic man was a reflection of the changing face of Beaufort County — and it was an embarrassment. According to Spanish-speaking people who were present in the court, some of the translations were inaccurate.
While English is the mother language, the numbers of people who have moved here from elsewhere show the need for adequate translators and interpreters in all facets of life, especially the courts, where life-and-death situations and freedoms often intersect.”
