“A Latino Historical Society of Wisconsin has been formed in Milwaukee, and the organization is undertaking a project documenting the photographic history of Latinos in the city.

“The timeliness of this project reflects the influences of several elements,” said Joseph Rodriguez, the society’s president and associate professor of history at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. “The explosive growth of the Latino community in metro Milwaukee area now represents nearly 10 percent of the area’s population, but very little information about its origins and development has been documented.”"
