Reports say housing crisis grips Hispanic families in NYC

“It has reached critical depths on local and national levels, especially for Hispanic and low-income families, according to a 2005 policy brief about the state of housing for Hispanics in the United States.
The report, commissioned by the New York State Assembly Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force, follows a study released in 2003 entitled “Housing Emergency and Overcrowding in New York City,” the genesis of anecdotes explored by author Carlos Vargas-Ramos, a researcher at the Hunter College Center of Puerto Rican Studies.”
