“Morales, 26, born in Mexico and raised in Tempe, cannot be so easily defined by nationality. He is the sum of his Mexican roots and American childhood, an embodiment of blended cultures. He is as much cumbia as he is techno. If forced to choose between sushi and menudo, he’d find a way to get both on his plate.
He is, in essence, a herald of what’s to come in the Valley as people of varied cultures are more often sitting elbow to elbow at the bar. The Valley’s younger generation is bonding over music, food and mutual interests, their shared age more important than their diverse backgrounds.”
