Carlos Guerra: Activist reunion held amid changes and need for more change

“Some 300 former Texas A&I activists met Wednesday for the Chicano Activist Colloquium at Texas A&M-Kingsville, which was turning into a hotbed of Latino civil rights activism when I enrolled in 1965.

I returned last week to find that many buildings seem smaller, my fellow alums look more distinguished, and the student body in which we were a minority is now heavily Mexican American.”
