Dr. Laura Gonzalez is directing this series. The day I met her she was wearing a “NOT Hispanic” t-shirt! She was explaining how the Hispanic label negates our indigenous roots. She went around the classroom asking attendees what they preferred to be called. I wasn’t sure. “Latina,” I said with some trepidation.”
