“Congressional and Latino community leaders announce highlights of The National Latino AIDS Awareness Day festivities and the release of a new study on Hispanic women and HIV/AIDS. National Latino AIDS Awareness day was founded to call for expansion of resources for preventing spread of HIV infection in Latino communities and to promote activities that raise national, state and local awareness of the expanding HIV/AIDS epidemic in Latino communities.

The number of Latinas with AIDS has increased by 53% since 1990.”
